The Context

Through the partnership with Didier Drogba Foundation and the participation of the Ippon athlete Marie-Eve Gahié, this project was carried out in line with our DNA: sports & digital.

On the island of Vitré, 70km away from Abidjan, in a rural and secluded zone deprived of internet access and digital tools, this project was a perfect match with the Foundation’s goal : the fight against the digital divide.

The project

Four hundred children will be able to use the digital classroom, made of ten computer stations, all provided by the Ippon foundation. The mobilised experts also gave a training on the digital tools to the local teachers, in order to optimize the usage of the provided material.

An introduction to judo has also been offered to students thanks to the presence of Marie-Eve Gahie, vice World champion athlete and Ippon and the organization of the Ivorian Federation of Judo.

The Partnership

Founded in 2007, the Didier Drogba Foundation covers three fields of action : Health, Education and population empowerment in Africa. These are the three most important pillars of a community development process. The Didier Drogba Foundation is now thinking bigger and aims to develop its activities during 2020, the goal being to become one of the most important humanitarian African foundations.
